The Review of Economic Philosophy was founded in 2000 by Alain Leroux (then Professor at Université de la Méditerranée, Aix-en-Provence), and edited by Leroux and Alain Marciano from 2007 to 2012, then by Marciano and Emmanuel Picavet between 2012 and 2015 and, last to date, by Picavet and Gilles Campagnolo since then.
The Review aims at contributing to the development and spread of basic and advanced research in the field of economic philosophy, thus contributing to structure this field and consolidate its academic recognition within the present-day patterns of labor specialization.
The first journal in France (and in both French and English language) dedicated to this field, the Review of Economic Philosophy publishes works that critically and rigorously examine through solid references and sound argumentation philosophical issues raised by economic activity. Published works notably probe the fundamental assumptions and methodological process of economic analysis, confronting its relationship with social and institutional life. Contributions are organized in three sections:
- Articles (thematic June issue / December varia)
- Book reviews
- “Paths for Economic Philosophy” (December)
The interaction between philosophy and economics is fundamental to analytical progress.
