Abstract

This article focuses on climate change adaptation policies in the case of small island territories. We identify situations of justice applied to small islands subject to rising sea levels. Looking at the case of a state made up of two islands and then that of a world made up of two island states, the analysis of the principles of justice is carried out using two approaches to justice—situated justice and global justice. Finally, we propose the framework of a global ecological justice, which can take into account both intra and intergenerational dimensions of justice.
